DESCRIPTION: WW - Hamilton "canteen" WWII diving watch US Navy BUSHIPS, manual wind, 31mm x 38mm to lug tips, 16mm lug width, original chrome-plated base metal case with stainless steel screw back marked "USN BUSHIPS" and canteen crown, green canvas strap, original black dial with white Arabic numerals and luminous plots at every hour, "USN BUSHIPS" at 12 and "Hamilton" at 6, s#533402, triple signed. One of the more sought after watches of the American forces in WWII with its unusual screw down crown, it is instantly recognizable. If only watches could talk, this particular piece would have one hell of a story to tell.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, very light oxide to crown and ratchet wheel; excellent-plus dial with light surface spotting and discolored lume indices; excellent hands with discolored luminous material; unpolished case shows light wear, plating loss on lug edges, no dents or dings; original canteen crown shows light wear, good threads; original lead sealed glass crystal with ample surface scratches.
